Professional Interests
Dr. David Rovinsky is Chief of the Bone and Joint Center of KMC and Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine. He is a consultant for Shriners Hospital for Children, Honolulu, and on the medical staff of Wilcox and KVMH hospitals on Kauai and Straub Hospital, Pali Momi Hospital and Queens Hospital in Honolulu. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Orthopaedics Overseas and the Kauai Medical Clinic. He is a member of the Hawaii Committee on Trauma. Dr. Rovinsky has special interests in hip resurfacing, computer navigation, minimally invasive total joint replacement, partial knee replacement, arthroscopy and complex trauma. He has a passion for overseas volunteer work, and has practiced in the Philippines, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and South Africa.
Personal Interests
In his leisure time, Dr. Rovinsky enjoys volunteering overseas, providing medical care where it is most needed. He also enjoys surfing, scuba diving, and snowboarding. His spouse, Dr. Amy Hutson, is an emergency medicine physician with Kauai Medical Clinic, and they have 2 sons.
